Details that matter
A 150 x 80 mm, 50 mm deep cast-plaster ceiling body that sits flush in the board, with a thin flange that is filled and painted into the ceiling.

Cut-out and flush trim
Cut the ceiling or soffit at 155 x 85 mm; the plaster flange laps the opening by about 5 mm all round and is filled and painted with the surrounding board, so no frame line shows.

Lamp and service
GU10 behind the opening. The lamp drops out from below and the holder sits on a spring clip, so re-lamping never touches the plaster joint.
