Details that matter
A 450 × 450 mm cast-plaster panel, with a recessed moon face cast into the face; it sits flush in the board and the flange is filled and painted into the ceiling, so no frame line shows.

Cut the ceiling or soffit at None × None mm; the plaster flange laps the opening by about 5 mm all round and is filled and painted with the surrounding board.

The panel takes the COB strip, 24 W; the driver is remote and the light engine is reached from below without removing the panel.
